If you like early morning walks on the beach, Agia Pelagia has one of the best beaches for that. And one of the best aspects of walking early in the morning is that you can watch the sun rise from behind the island of Dia, and as the sun rises the golden light shines across the bay water towards you. It is simple magnificent and is one of those must things to see when you are in Agia Pelagia.
This morning I got up and headed down to the beach riding a scooter I had hired from Sun Rider and after walking the beach decided that sitting in front of the Caldera Restaurant was a great position to see the sun rise from behind the island and also catching it as it passes by the point of the bay.
I used my mobile phone to connect to the internet and listened to some great music on KryKey Personal Web Radio (must have Flash running) and there I sat while watching one of natures spectacles and took some fantastic photos.
While sitting there I also saw the bay and beach come to life with people going off to fish and sail, some tourists from Germany getting an early start to go scuba diving, heard people having fun, talking laughing in one of the taverns along the beach and even saw a young couple walking hand in hand along the beach enjoying the sun rise and each others company.
