In our continuing "Spotlight an Artist" series here on KryKey Personal Web Radio, today's Artist is Rowdee MethodzDope Emcee from N.C. is the Phrase that stands out whenever I think of Rowdee. He was born in Winston Salem, N.C. Rowdee is truly one of the elite Emcees out thousands coming down from the north. He has been spitting fire since the Air Force One, but didn’t get serious about it until he caught a robbery beef. Since then this profound artist has been getting it in with numerous recordings and performances. The self proclaimed Carolina messiah actually has a lot to give the Hip-Hop world. His delivery is wicked; his flow is timeless; and his drive is relentless.“I’d like to think of myself as a well rounded artist: exclaims the Winston Salem native. “In these times you got so much bullshit flooding the industry and people that say that they love Hip-Hop is buying this shit off the shelves while real artists that actually have something to say get shelved by labels so they can crank the Roy. What part of the game is that? If this is what this culture has to look forward to, then Hip-Hop is, as Mz Nokz would put it: Borderline Cardiac Arrest.”I know it sounds cocky, but if you actually sat down and listened to this guy’s flow, you’d see why he has reason to do so.Rowdee can be heard on Desert One on the KryKey Personal Web Radio network.(Please note: all bio information is supplied by either the artist themselves or their manager)

Airyka’s Mic Booth5th April 2009Some say hip hop is dead, but in North Carolina it is very much alive. Although Hip Hop in NC is somewhat opposed by many conservatives because of the popular belief that hip hop is centered around drugs and violence, Emcees in NC strive to use hip hop in a positive way, proving that hip hop’s social impact is not all negative. NC is filled with dope emcees that can and will restore your faith in hip hop. The south is overrun with talent, but hailing out of N.C comes the next lyrical prodigy. Rowdee Methodz doesn’t follow your everyday backpacker’s mantra. He delivers ethereal swaggers over gutter beats. With mix tapes and albums coming, there is no doubt as to who will be the next underground emcee to rise above sea level. He is an artist that can go from the hardest of block bangers to the illest life stories.Born in Winston- Salem, NC and raised between Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia, Rowdee was influenced by early Hip Hop like KRS ONE, Big Daddy Kane, and Kool G Rap. He finally honed his own style which can only be described as unorthodox. Rowdee did a seven year stint in prison in 1999. After being release he began performing venues such as Somewhere Else Tavern in Greensboro, NC, Peppers in High Point, NC, Ziggys and the Millennium Center in Winston Salem, NC, he has also opened up for the Ruff Rider’s DMX. With his new album Haterz Buffet due to release in June of this year, look for Rowdee to make waves in the industry, just don’t catch a cold in his draft as he shoots by on his way to the top.You can hear him currently on the web radio stations “Oz Radio”, "Desert One" and “WCUT Radio” on KryKey Personal Web Radio.
Stay tuned as we get to know more dope emcees from North Carolina.
